Mexico’s largest private hospital network, Hospital Angeles Health System, is introducing nasal photodisinfection before surgery at two of its main hospitals. Ondine’s nasal photodisinfection technology, Steriwave, which has been reported by hospitals across the UK and Canada to reduce surgical site infections (SSIs) by up to 70%, will be piloted in patients undergoing major surgery.

The deployment builds on strong momentum following the announcement of Ondine’s pivotal Phase 3 trial of 5018 patients across 17 Canadian and US hospitals, whose topline results showed a 40.5% reduction in post-surgical infection rates.

The clinical rollout initially focuses on two of the network's elite flagship facilities:

State-of-the-art Infection Prevention
